Organic Winegrower in Valdarno di Sopra
Preserve, take care and protect
The most exceptional wines originate from the most historically suitable territories. For this reason, the biodiversity and environmental richness of Valdarno di Sopra, an area that has always been among the most appreciated in Tuscany, offer us unique potential for producing wines of great quality and identity
Ours is an Etruscan and Roman land, studied and loved by Leonardo da Vinci, who painted the Arno, Ponte a Buriano, and the Balze in his most famous masterpieces, such as the Mona Lisa and the Virgin of the Rocks, as well as in his drawings. It is the valley of Pievi, an area where, for thousands of years, the growing of vines and wine, as well as olives and oil, have been a cornerstone of the lives of farmers, nobles, and religious congregations.
A land from whose castles, created by the Florentines centuries earlier, the wine supply of the capital city of Florence started during the Renaissance period.
Where, with Cosimo III de’ Medici’s proclamation of 1716 regulating the protection of the wines of Chianti, Pomino, Carmignano and, indeed, Valdarno di Sopra, this trend has been further consolidated to the present day.
Here, on the historic Setteponti road, we have built our wine-growing estate based on the great potential of this area, the protection of its natural environment, and the balance that sets it apart. We have focused our investments on these objectives
- With the construction of an agri-solar energy system that makes the estate energy self-sufficient.
- By using certified organic and precision agronomy, which allows us to minimize the use of natural products to protect the vines, reducing water consumption despite the ongoing climate change.
- By choosing to gradually replace all our old bottles, using only new, lighter bottles made from 100% recycled glass.
- Remaining faithful over the last 13 years to our use of recyclable and reusable glass closures, such as Vinolok caps.
- Using recycled cardboard packaging boxes in a flat format to facilitate transport and storage.
